Hi! I’m Emily. And I want you to stick around as a doula for a long time!
I love doula work, I want you to be able to do it for a long time. As a “seasoned” doula and fitness professional, I have discovered 2 things:
As I get older, I realized that taking care of my mind and my body is a critical part of taking care of my business.
Doulas leave this work because they “can't get clients” or they burnout due to mind / body injury.
Because of this, many doulas don’t last long enough in the work to get REALLY experienced and GREAT at what they do. I don’t want that to happen to you!!

The Fit4Doula™ program was born out of a desire to keep wonderful doulas doing the work for the long haul. From our workouts (don’t dread this part! - think of them as movement moments!), to included continuing education hours, to those enriching chats in between you’re on your way to doula fitness!

Emily has a wealth of business insight and experience over decades of doing the work, PLUS she’ll introduce you to her incredible business maven friends along the way! You’ll be surrounded with actionable business advice between our group, office hours, and special sessions!
Why Fit4Doula™?
The work that we do as doulas is physically and emotionally hard. Though we don’t have statistics on injury rates specifically for doulas, we do have them on health care workers and they are not good. Injuries due to “high exertion tasks”, “awkward postures required for patient care,” and pressure by others to participate in “risk-prone activity” are common . . . Hmm, those activities sure sound a lot like doula work, right?
We also know that most doulas don’t stay in this work for more than 2 years after they have trained. This troubles me because one thing we know is that it takes longer than 2 years to really excel at your craft. They leave because they don’t know how to get clients, struggle with boundary setting, find the work exhausting, or get injured.
The secret to staying in doula work is having a health mind, body, and business!
