Frequently Asked Questions

Marketing FAQs

  • I find asking the participants at the end of class to write a review on the 4TFM google link

(I have it ready to send to them via text) and then copy and paste that review on your business link works well.  If that doesnโ€™t work, follow up afterwards and text this link as a reminder, with a note like this:

โ€œHey! I hope that you have found our class/clinic helpful! Would you help me out and do a quick review? Just pull up the link, right now, and take one minute.  Iโ€™d appreciate it if you would do this and mention my name, too! Thanks so much! โ€œ

  • A 4TFM top and solid leggings (we recommend black, navy or gray) works great!

  • We have found that it is extremely useful to do so! It makes the instructor's workload so much lighter. You can post videos, information, outings, answer questions and more in the group. It also helps the members of a class bond (and we are all about community, right?). Just make sure to make the group โ€œPRIVATEโ€ and โ€œHIDDENโ€ in the group settings. Let the members know that this is a temporary group.

  • No, we market the 4TFM brand as a whole. It is the instructorโ€™s responsibility to network in her community, spread the word and fill her own classes, but we give you lots of tools and support so you can do this!  When posting about your classes on social media, make sure to tag us @4thTrimesterFitnessMethod so that we can repost your post for you!

  • Absolutely! The badges are found in your marketing hub on the website platform.

  • Remember you must use the ยฎ or TM the first time on any page that you use the titles of:

    • 4th Trimester Fitnessยฎ (with or without "Method")

    • Prep4Birthโ„ข

    • Prep4Partnerโ„ข

    • Postpartum Recoveryยฎ Fitness

    • Core4Allโ„ข

This helps to protect the brand and TM of those titles. In the paragraphs after the title or phrase, you can leave it out.

Teaching Logistics

  • You will likely have requests to come and observe your classes. If they are actually pregnant, you may want to invite them to P4B or P4P, or if they are newly postpartum, you may wish to invite them to PPR. They are great referral sources, so consider letting them join your class at no cost. Just send them a coupon code for your registration link but definitely still have them complete your registration form.

But if they are not pregnant or postpartum, here is the 4TFM policy on non-participants observing your classes... In a nutshell, it's a HARD NO. Here is the wording to put on your website or when you have (usually doulas) sending you a request to observe:

"Thank you so much for asking first. It's the 4th Trimester Fitnessยฎ Method's policy that classes are to be attended by participants only. This is to create a safe space for the participants to connect and share and not feel observed. Thank you so much for understanding."

Mostly, that reply is all that is needed. If anyone ever pushes you, refer them to Emily or Samantha. Most of the requests will come from doulas to see what you do at one of the prenatal classes. Instead, encourage them to check out our instructor training and certification! Share your affiliate code with them!

  • No, because what we teach in class is not โ€œconfidentialโ€. Itโ€™s by nature public. They canโ€™t copy our copyrighted material though. But that goes for anyone outside of the 4TFM family.

  • This falls under your own discretion but we do not suggest that you offer refunds except in the following instances:

    • P4B and P4P โ€“ if they have their baby before the class is held, offer a refund and a hearty congrats!  You could also ask them if theyโ€™d like to apply their registration fee towards an upcoming PPR series.

    • PPR and A4C โ€“ If they have their baby later than they thought and the baby is too young to attend. Or, if they do not have medical clearance after a cesarean. In both of these instances: first, offer to hold their spot for the next class or second, offer a full refund.

  • This is completely up to the individual instructor. You decide what your refund policy is for classes. Once a participant has begun the class series, we do not recommend doing a prorated fee/refund for missed classes or late attendance.

  • That is totally fine but the class is more fun with her baby!

  • They may certainly come to PPR but do let them know that the class is geared for mothers of newborns and so there will be babies and crying in class. For some, that may be too distracting and they may prefer to come to a Core4All clinic instead.

  • We do not recommend you allow this in your class as it becomes very distracting and anxiety producing for all of the other participants. It is simply not fair the to other participants.

  • Because many of the babies attending are newborns. Toddlers and crawlers will be all over the other babies and make participants nervous. Some babies may begin to crawl during the 6 weeks PPR series, but by this time, the participants know one another and it seems to be okay.

  • Yep! If your space allows for added people.

On Being an Instructor

  • Yes!  If you are an active licensee, you can take the online, virtual or in person instructor training course again at no cost, for the courses you have paid for. WE call this a โ€œBe Backโ€ as in โ€œIโ€™ll be back!โ€ We want you to be very comfortable with the material, so please take advantage of this if you are feeling like you want a refresher.

  • You do not have to take CECs but we highly encourage you to continue looking for opportunities to take CECs to stay current in the quickly-changing field of perinatal education!

  • Your licensee agreement will automatically renew each year, as long as you pay the annual license fee. This gives you access to the learning platform and all of the marketing materials. Additionally, you will need to provide proof of active CPR/AED certification and liability insurance annually. If you do not pay the annual license fee by the renewal date, you will have effectively terminated your license and you will not have access to licensee rights or benefits. We do not offer pro-rated license fees or credits if you decide to stop teaching in the middle of a year in which you are licensed.

  • We want you to come back! You will need to take the instructor training and certification classes again, and we offer a significant discount for prior licensees: $250 per course.  You will also pay the annual license fee, which will be at the current rate at the time of recertification.

  • Currently, it is $360.00 per year or $36.00 per month, regardless of the number of certifications you hold. This number may adjust annually.

The license/membership fee is gifted as a part of the first course that you purchase. When you purchase additional courses, your annual membership renews on the date of the purchase of the first course.

  • One year after you purchase your first 4TFM training, regardless of the amount of time it takes you to complete your training and certification. If you paid with a payment plan, use the date of your first payment. Purchasing subsequent training courses does not extend or re-start the 1-year grace period.

  • Yes! Your discount code is INSTRUCTOR10

  •  Yes!! You will use the coupon code INSTRUCTORFIT4DOULA to set this up so that you have access to the Fit4Doula HUB.

  • No. Having more instructors in an area builds the awareness of the 4TFM brand and works to your benefit. Actually, we encourage a collaboration of instructors in your area. Working together to help one another, offer support to each other and another person to bounce ideas off of. Also, allows you to have an instructor to cover your class for you if you get sick or are attending a birth (this mostly pertains to PPR series, as Clinics can be rescheduled).
